Those who are in the third trimester of their
pregnancy are unfortunately not eligible for this course
A 2-day intermediate level course links acupuncture techniques with
current physiotherapy practice. This practical based course revises commonly
used points and meridian pathways and then introduces western acupuncture
techniques of use in a busy outpatient department or sports club.
Brief content:
- Important basic points
- Trigger points - definition and location
- Acupuncture treatment of trigger points
- Manual therapy techniques for trigger point release
- Periosteal acupuncture
- Regional conditions - upper limb / lower limb and trunk
- Exercise therapy to support acupuncture
- Clinical reasoning: integrating acupuncture with musculoskeletal treatment.
Who is this course aimed at?
This course is aimed at all those who are regularly and confidently using
acupuncture. Little time will be spent on revision of technique and most of the
time will be spent practising and clinically reasoning acupuncture within a
musculoskeletal setting.
Participants must have completed a basic acupuncture course.
