There is no prerequisite for this course. Participants
must be familiar with shoulder assessment and treatment using motor control.
This day aims to explore a number of areas. These include motor control and
motor learning, the underlying theory will be reviewed and their applications
to rehab discussed, especially end stage rehabilitation. The shoulders
involvement in the kinetic chain will be explored, the literature pertaining to
this, the transfer of force, its application for sport and how posture, and
balance play a role in this. In addition vascular pathologies, TOS and neural
adherence will be discussed. Finally proprioception, muscle reaction times and
injury prevention will be explored. The day will be a mixture of presentations,
practical and informal discussion.
The goal is to explore the best in current practice in the end stage
rehabilitation of shoulders and especially the sporting shoulder.

Who is this course aimed at?
This course is aimed at all levels of physiotherapists, osteopaths,
chiropractors and sports therapists who are well versed in shoulder examination
and treatment and especially those with a special interest in this area..
