Intermediate Acupuncture course
This
course is aimed at experienced acupuncture practitioners who have discovered how
effective acupuncture can be but sometimes experience frustration at the
limitations in the approach to clinical reasoning often taught. This course,
using appropriate applied pain physiology and current research evidence, will
provide a Western styled clinical reasoning model with an emphasis on
acupuncture safety. The anatomical relationships of commonly used points and the
introduction of challenging points both will be emphasised within the practical
elements of the day.
The
course will represent 10 hours of CPD, 3 hours of which will be pre-course
reading, this will be assessed during the course along with practical skills.
By the end of the course the
students will be able to:
-
Explain the neurophysiology relevant to acupuncture analgesia including new
additions to the evidence base.
-
Demonstrate clinical reasoning in acupuncture based on current
neurophysiology
-
Demonstrate effective and safe needling of challenging points.
-
Demonstrate an awareness of anatomy relevant to acupuncture points
Who is this course aimed at?
This course is aimed at all those who are regularly and confidently using
acupuncture.
Participants must have completed a basic acupuncture course.
