12.30pm Mechanical ventilation – effects and complications
1.00pm Lunch
1.45pm Case study.
2.00pm Mechanical ventilation - knobs, modes and settings, PEEP, intrinsic PEEP, weaning, practical demonstration if machine available.
3.30pm Tea
3.45pm Chest drains quiz.
4.00pm Support systems in the ICU - fluids, nutrition and drug therapy, balloon pump, ECMO, IVOX.
5.00pm Close

8.30am Acute respiratory distress syndrome
9.30am Physiotherapy for ventilated patients

10.15am Conundrum
10.30am Physiotherapy continued
